Diane is the “accountant lady”
for all Murphy Broadcasting stations. She is very familiar with the radio business,
having previously owned two radio stations in Colorado and two in New Mexico.
These were small market stations, so she was no stranger to any part of the operation
of a station, even hosting her own on air community program. Selling her stations
in 1990, Diane came to Lake Havasu City for the lake and love of boating. Starting
with Mad Dog Wireless in 1994, she soon was promoted to Vice-President of Corporate
Finance. “We have certainly spread our wings over this eleven year period
of time. I’m sure we’re not done yet!” Diane adds, “I
have enjoyed the growth and challenges and being part of the team”.

Melissa Hughes – Operations Manager
Misty had an accidental start in radio in 1995 and fell in love with it. Filling in for the on-air weekend shift quickly turned into two weeks, then on to full time. However, it being a smaller market, she learned all aspects of radio including traffic, production, news, and accounting. As Ops Manager, Misty keeps very busy in the news department, maintaining and updating stations to live broadcasts, and whatever else Mr. Rolando throws her way. “But we do have a lot of fun here” she says. “What a great ‘family’ to belong to!”

Mike started in radio in 1978 after years of
listening to “The Big Eight” out of Detroit and believing his family
and friends that he had a good radio voice. After graduating from The Ohio School
Of Broadcasting, he began his radio career making a whopping $5.00 an hour at
the local AM station. Eventually everyone died off, and he was promoted to morning
man and Operations Manager. In 1989, he launched a start up all hit radio station.
Realizing that was fun but he was poor, he moved into sales and eventually became
Sales Manager and later GM for the station. In 2003, he helped to launch another
start up Classic Rock station, building the sales process as well as the format.
Now residing in Kingman with JOJO the Wonder Dog, Mike enjoys riding his Harley.
His favorite saying: “Get a client to like you… trust you, and never
abuse that trust!”
